Jonathan Westley

Chief Data Officer, Experian

Jonathan is the Chief Data Officer for Experian UK&I and EMEA, with overall responsibility for all enterprise data related aspects including governance, insight, strategy and performance.  In 2019 he was recognised by DataIQ as one of the UK’s top 100 data leaders.

Experian job history

Jonathan joined Experian back in 2000 working through various positions in Experian’s technology team moved back into leading business functions in 2006. Jonathan was responsible for the consulting function before becoming Product & Marketing Director for the Consumer Information business.  In 2011 Jonathan took on the position of Managing Director of Consumer Information (CIS) business for Experian UK&I business.  In November 2018 Jonathan took on overall responsibility for all data related aspects as Chief Data Officer across UK&I and EMEA regions.

                                                             

Accomplishments

Jonathan has been responsible for developing the CIS business for the last 7 years. This has involved the identification and development of new data assets to help consumers and organisations work seamlessly in a digital world. During this period acquired and integrated 3 complimentary businesses.

He has been instrumental in developments that have transformed the business which now operates across segments and includes businesses such HD Decisions, Runpath and Background Checking and new strategic developments such as Rental Exchange.  He has worked closely with organisations creating partnerships that bring new services to market e.g. Lexis Nexis and VocaLink.  He is board advisor for several FinTech firms: – AireLabs / Canopy and Cazana.

Prior work experience

Jonathan has accumulated experience throughout his 30-year career in different positions across the credit industry.  He spent 10 years working for Abbey National (now Santander Group) across the credit life cycle, from branch management to leading their expansion through deployment of large scale operational centres for Mortgages / credit card and current account processing.  A further 4 years with CGI consulting working with several financial organizations across Asia Pac / EMEA & UK&I, with a further 2 years with FICO, launching their International Consulting division.
